Changeover to non-phthalate plasticiser

The management at Controlled Polymers A/S has made the decision to phase out the use of phthalate plasticiser

The management at Controlled Polymers A/S has made the decision to phase out the use of phthalate plasticiser in PVC masterbatch (Di-isononyl-phthalate (DINP) and di-2-ethyl-hexyl-phthalate (DEHP, also called DOP).

By this decision Controlled Polymers A/S no longer is involved in pending discussion concerning the harmful effect to the environment related to the use phthalate plasticisers.

Controlled Polymers A/S has succeeded in finding a partner and supplier of a non-phthalate plasticiser, who is able to supply a product with significant low migration values, physical and chemical properties full comparable with current used plasticiser.

We are already supplying the non-phthalate PVC masterbatch to customers who has requested a non-phthalate solution for their PVC masterbatch. The changeover has not to our knowledge caused any problems.

Controlled Polymers A/S vouch for, that the changeover of the plasticiser in your PVC master batch, will have no negative effect on the end item.

Due to competitive causes we are unable to supply you with information regarding which plasticiser we will be using. Should your company have a documented and legitimate need for information regarding the new plasticiser, please get in contact with our laboratory manager Rikke Maj Ager, who will be assisting you in getting the needed information.

The changeover to non-phthalate plasticiser is planed to take place before end of June 2009.
